ASFA participates in an annual Halloween Week and Fall Carnival. Each day of Halloween week, students can dress by school themes determined by the Student Council. This year, the themes are:
Tuesday, October 25: Teacher Dress Up Day
Wednesday, October 26: Monochrome Day (Match with your Grade).
7th Grade: Orange
8th Grade: Green
9th Grade: White
10th Grade: Blue
11th Grade: Pink
12th Grade: Black
Thursday, October 27: Favorite Character/Celebrity Day
Friday, October 28: Barbeque Dads vs. Soccer Moms
Monday, October 31: Halloween Costume
On Halloween, ASFA students will be dismissed to the DJD for the annual Halloween costume contest. Any student may enter, and the winner will be decided by a panel of faculty members. The costume contest is then immediately followed by the Fall Carnival, at which students will use tickets to play games or participate in activities prepared by many of ASFA’s clubs, groups or grades.
Some of the expected activities are by ASFA’s GSA, agriscience union, student council, robotics team, and others. The GSA will have a booth set up where students have the opportunity to purchase different pins representing different genders and sexualities, each with a twist. The Agriscience Union will prepare a game that has a time limit for digging for prizes. Specifically, the student will be digging through dirt with small shovels.
Each grade of the Student Council will have a booth. The tenth-grade class will have a confession booth, where people will write an anonymous confession on a note, directed to another student. These notes can be pretty much anything, delivered by costume-wearing volunteers out loud. Additionally, for an increased price, the student can add a rose and candy along with their confession.
The First Robotics team will be hosting Mario Kart, as well as a marble run. Students can play Mario Kart or participate in a marble run, where they will try to predict which marble will win to earn a prize.
Additionally, organizers are planning for a breakout room, laser tag, a jail, and many more booths not mentioned. The tickets are available to purchase all week during both Lunch A and Lunch B, as well as during the carnival itself. Carnival activities will be throughout the school.
