ASFA's new Run Club open to students looking to improve their fitness

On Feb. 11, ASFA’s new Run Club, led by teachers Mr. Russell Hehn and Ms. Samantha Simmons, went on its first run. Despite the cold and rain, participants say the run was fun and successful, attracting a large number of students.

The run was about two miles in length and took place in City Walk, and more than 25 students participated. The club plans to host runs twice a month, providing students with an opportunity to stay active, improve their fitness, and enjoy the outdoors.

The club is open to all students, regardless of skill level or experience; new members are always welcome.

The second, most recent run took place on Saturday, Feb. 25, atCity Walk, following the same route as the first run. The club does plan to change the running route in future runs.

According to Ms. Simmons, “The participants have already begun to see improvements, all while having fun running.” The club plans to have its next run this Saturday, March 4.

Whether you're an experienced runner or just starting out, the ASFA Run Club is an excellent opportunity to get involved with the ASFA student body in a healthy way. If interested, contact either teacher sponsor Ms. Simmons or Mr. Hehn.
