And you can make it from scratch, as students and faculty are doing in CW & Media Arts instructor Mazerick Betko's "Lunch-and-Learn" short course this semester. Following a visit from Auburn University Art & Art History prof and multimedia artist Kristen Tordella-Williams, the short coursers have explored the analog technology/art of bookmaking. First step: making the paper. Next step: handmade books.
"We're very interested in the intersection between analog and digital media in our exploration of media arts at ASFA," says ASFA CW chair and Media Arts Coordinator TJ Beitelman. "There are ways the two complement each other, and we want our community to embrace all the tools at their disposal in the media they create."
Stay tuned for a showcase of the work created in the short course at an upcoming "Media Arts Lunch-and-Learn" near you!
