On Friday, the ASFA Student Council will host this spring's school dance, the Disco Dance, in the ASFA cafeteria. This year’s theme is '70s disco-themed, and will last from 7-9 p.m.
The Student Council collectively met to discuss this year's theme for the dance. Ideas that were put on the table included Dinosaur, Old Hollywood, and Valentine's Day. They ultimately decided on a '70s disco theme because “it was fun and easily adaptable to the cafeteria,” says tenth grader and student treasurer Aubrey Segars. The disco theme promotes the fun interactive part of what the school dance should be.
Due to popularity, last year’s photo booth will make a reappearance with photographer Voe Elle Jones, who is a tenth-grade representative on the student council. Refreshments will be provided. The DJ on hand will take suggestions for the night's playlist as well.
The cost at the door is $7, but tickets are $5 if purchased in advance throughout the week during lunchtime in the cafeteria.
