[BREAKING NEWS: NOW Accepting Math/Science Senior Symposium Submissions!!]
It’s about that time again when ASFA’s own online literary (and art and etc!) magazine The Star Review is open for submissions for its spring 2025 issue! If you’re skeptical about the website or aren’t entirely sure if you want to submit, allow me to persuade you.
The Star Review was created to solve a problem. Many people at ASFA often do not get the representation they deserve. In Visual Art for example, many folks don’t get frequent and widespread opportunities to showcase the work they have dedicated so much of their time to. So far, we've featured the work of Courtney Pride, Delilah Wilkerson (see above!), and Sophie Wright -- not to mention TSR's Visual Art editor, Abbey Dickey.
Similar with Math/Science students, who work incredibly hard and look forward to one event during their senior year: the Math/Science Senior Symposium. As of this next issue, TSR will now be accepting Symposium research projects! In this mission, we hope to bring wider representation to the department and student body.
TSR is also (as always) accepting poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and visual art submissions. While we don’t have a specific theme for issue 1.2, we are hoping to curate the quintessential work of our community. What’s beautiful about our school is that the culmination of the work here shifts with time and generations. It would be beautiful to encapsulate what ASFA students are working on right now. Don't delay: the deadline for submissions is February 28!! To submit, please click on the the TSR ‘submit’ tab on our website and send us your fine work!
Best,
