Writing for TV/Film Class Hits the Ground Running In Fall 2024

Erika E. Wade: writer, teacher, performer, and ASFA alumnae

After successful stints as a writer and performer in L.A. and New York, ASFA alum (CW ’09) and recent Emmy-winner Erika E. Wade has returned to ASFA to teach the new Writing for Television and Film elective this fall. Her students have been producing a ton of ideas and material in the first few weeks of class. From screening clips of Napoleon Dynamite, to discussing the ins and outs of the entertainment industry, Ms. Wade has also been helping students get a clear idea of the intersection of art and entrepreneurship.

"I love it," says Wade of her experience as an ASFA teacher so far. "It's so nice to be able to share information that might be gatekept with students . . . especially people who are so eager to learn, so it's been fun."
