Yearbook Staff Dedicates 2023-24 Yearbook to Dina and Will Marble

The 2023-2024 ASFA Yearbook was distributed earlier this semester following an emotional dedication to Mr. and Mrs. Marble, introduced by their daughter, Gracie (TA '26). Both Will and Dina Marble have devoted years of their lives to the students of ASFA as Health and Wellness Coordinator, Attendance/Conduct Manager and Grade Level Counselor respectively, although Mr. Marble retired shortly before the year’s end last year.

Mrs. Marble started her tenure at ASFA in 2002, years before she even met her husband. At that time, Mr. Marble was working at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. "We met in Vancouver, Canada, at an experiential education conference," she said. "We shared a passion for creating experiences designed to help students build relationships and strong communities." He was contracted by the school to facilitate grade-level retreats for just a year, but he soon got engaged to Mrs. Marble, moved to Birmingham, and was hired to be ASFA's Health and Wellness Coordinator, a role that he would keep for thirteen years.

During their twenty years working together at ASFA, “we implemented over 100 grade-level retreats together and countless student support collaborations,” Mrs. Marble tells us.

On the subject of the dedication, Mrs. Marble says, “I was very honored, especially since I know there are so many deserving adults at ASFA who work tirelessly to support students every day. Sharing that honor with Mr. Marble was also very special.”

Mrs. Marble became a counselor at ASFA to impact the lives of young and creative students and experience the vibrant culture and community. “Ages 12-18 are dynamic years in someone’s life. Getting to share that time with so many interesting, smart, and talented students has been one of my life’s greatest gifts,” she says. “I brag about ASFA students everywhere I go, all the time. I’m always blown away by how insightful, kind, sophisticated, and thoughtful ASFA students are.”

“It’s extraordinary to be recognized for our work with students,” Mrs. Marble says.
